I am a huge fan of Emily Giffin's novels, and I was very excited to see that she has a new release! I find her novels to be so effortless to read, classic chick-lit perfect for any summer vacation.
This story dives into one of the most common problems among married couples: infidelity. I found the story to be extremely life-like, and completely comparable to real-life situations that many couples face. Tessa and Nick are your perfect American couple, with a budding family,. It isn't until Nick has an affair with his young patients' single mom (Nick is a surgeon) that things begin to get complex.
This novel emphasizes the idea of forgiveness, no matter what the circumstances are... and sometimes one has to make decisions that are best for their family.
Perfect for a light-summer read, "Heart of the Matter" will cater to any book-fanatic whether it be a wife of 3, or a single 21 year old... like me!
